Otaru Tengu Yama
Otaru Tengu Yama is a mountain with an altitude of about 532 meters in Otaru City, Hokkaido. You can take a ropeway to the top of the mountain. It is popular among local residents as a spot where you can enjoy the natural scenery of Hokkaido. From the top of the mountain, you can get a panoramic view of Otaru city and Ishikari Bay. It is especially famous for its beautiful night view.

We recommend the winter scenery of Otaru Tengu Yama. The beautiful snowy scenery that appears in the first scene of the movie “Love Letter” directed by Iwai Shunji was filmed here.
The night view of Otaru that can be seen from the top of the mountain is also very beautiful.
・Tenguyama Ropeway Summit Station
The view from the summit station is spectacular. On a clear day, you can see the blue waters of Ishikari Bay and the city of Otaru.
・Tengu Yama Observatory
You can enjoy a panoramic view of Otaru from the observation deck. The view is particularly beautiful at dusk and at night, so many camera enthusiasts visit here.
・Tengu’s Nose
It is also popular to take commemorative photos in front of Tengu’s Nose, which is the symbol of Tenguyama.

You can enjoy zip lines, hot air balloons, and a 400m long slide. You can feed cute chipmunks at Chipmunk Park.

You can take a ropeway to the top of the mountain. You can enjoy different scenery depending on the season, so you can experience various charms throughout the year.
・Skiing and Snowboarding
In the winter, the ski resort opens. There are courses for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. There is also a ski museum with about 400 valuable items.
・Tengu’s House
This is a museum that has collected Tengu-related items from all over Japan. You can see over 700 Tengu-related exhibits for free. The giant Tengu mask is a spectacular sight.
